When women thrive, communities thrive. #IWD2021
If you teach one woman, you teach the whole family—and generations to come… because they have been the change agents all along. -Wu Qing
We’ve had the privilege of working alongside Syrian refugee women over these last few years and wholeheartedly agree. That’s why we’ve started a leadership initiative focused on empowering Syrian women, making this local role on our health team official and robust. Through this initiative, our local partners will be resourced in advocating for the health of their communities and learning how to implement trauma healing curriculum to those traumatized by war. We believe in a living education, working side by side, each of us learning culture and skills that make us stronger together.
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the role that Syrian women have always played in their culture. And looking into the future, join us in resourcing these women to rebuild their communities. It’s our goal to raise $5000 by IWD (March 8th) to keep the program running for another year.
The Syrian Leadership Initiative is run by the Cedars Network Health team.
